Hello,

This question isn't actually specific to a 2011 Toyota Yaris. I just wanted to ask someone with more auto knowledge than me whether there exist parts lists of vehicles in the public domain. In particular, I am interested in examining the suitability of regular vehicles to conversions to FFVs, and thus would be interested in taking a "survey" of various makes of vehicles, and determining how compatible the materials in their fuel systems are with alternative fuels. It's easy to find replacement parts for various makes, but these may vary from the stock parts and often do not come with information on what sort of material they are made from. Yet the information is out there - I'm wondering if it proprietary to the brand and thus not available.

I've never seen or heard of the type of list you're looking for. My best recommendation is to look up the parts for various flex fuel vehicles. Those made by aftermarket suppliers have to meet the same requirements as the originals. Often those aftermarket parts are made by the original manufacturer and just re-boxed under a new name. As an example, the same company that makes fuel pump assemblies for Chrysler sells them to NAPA too, so you're getting the same part that you would buy from the dealer.
