The radiator was empty. When the thermostat opened, and water level dropped. Had a continuous stream of bubbles. A blown head gasket or water pump or something else? Please help! Thank you in advance.

Hi,

If the coolant was very low, there would have been a lot of air in the system. Air bubbles are not out of the ordinary. Also, the coolant drop is normal as well. Refill it to the top and make sure it doesn't drop after a day or two.

If you do suspect the head gasket is bad, take a look through this link. It reviews how to check and what to look for.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
