We were able to get the old serpentine belt off. We made a diagram of how the new belt should go on, but can't get the belt to fit. What are we doing wrong?

Hi RLCLANIN,

Assuming you have the correct belt, you will need to turn the tensioner as far clockwise as possible to get the belt on.

I would suggest getting it on all pulleys except the tensioner and then turn the tensioner and slip it on. They are meant to be tight but this should allow you to get it on.

If you are still having issues, get a video of what you are dealing with and I will see what I can come up with. Thanks

Hi RLCLANIN75, I hope the diagram KASEKENNY1 poster helped you out. Even during my time at Volvo I would misaligne the belt because of the double sided rib. Please let us know if the diagram KASEKENNY1 posted helped out.
