Puff sound with faint kick at brake pedal

Hi , my car developed faulty ABS 1 month ago, and took it to a mechanic who told me that both (master brake booster cylinder) and ( pump actuator ) are defected , and replaced them with used one. not new parts as the new parts are so expensive. then once i received the car, i press brake pedal and stop car a faint puff or kick comes from pedal after 2 second from car stop , and is repeated each time i stopped the car. this happens intermittently. i think not in cold start but when i drive it for awhile. i read many articles and most of them told it may be the brake booster. is that the cause of this puff?
What about the pump?
Can you help me please to identify the cause ? And if this a dangerous issue ? What to do ?

If this happens when pressing or holding the brakes then yes, it most likely is the booster. The fact that this was a used booster, I imagine it has a leak in the diaphragm and when you are putting pressure on it, it releases and you hear the noise of it passing the diaphragm.

I doubt there is a warranty on that part so you would have to pay for another one. So if the brakes are operating and the pedal does not drop when this happens, I would try to ignore it.

However, if you feel something in the pedal and this "kick" is at the same time, then I would take it back and show the mechanic and see if they place where he got the part has any sort of return policy.
