Can I get the procedure to replace the inlet hose for the cooling system?

Hi there,

I am looking for the procedure to replace my cracked inlet hose (number 18 in the picture).
Is it just a simple pull the old one out and put the new one in? are there any extra steps i would need to do?

Hi,

If I am correct, that is the inlet hose for the surge tank (coolant reservoir). If you look below at the two pictures, they are the directions for the removal and replacement.

To answer your questions, there will be clamps where the new inlet tube connects. If they are the original ones, it will be a spring clamp. You can usually remove them with a good set of pliers.

oh geez, i have to drain the system. Is that necessary in your opinion? i understand there might be some spillage and i would need to top off, but to drain it?

That is exactly what I would do. Just be prepared in advance to reconnect. That way, you won't lose as much coolant.
