Sir, I own a Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI which has run 65,000 Km. All of a sudden the speedometer has stopped showing the speed of the car. The mechanic says the sensor is good the problem is with my the console in my car. Is it possible to repair this console or the only alternative is to replace it with a new one. If I have to go for a new console what would be its price in India. Please advice, whether I should go for a new console or not.

Ganesh, same issue I am facing with my Maruti Swift VDI, the MASS is asking me to replace the entire console which costs Rs.8000. Where you able to repair the existing console at a reasonable charge, if yes please share the details. Appreciate your help on this.

Hello,

There are two fuses that run the cluster, please check them out to see if they are blown. If they are okay try unplugging and re-plugging int he cluster to help any bad connecting there. Here are a couple wiring diagram to see which fuses are running the cluster

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Yesterday I just had the same problem. My speedometer needle stopped moving but the digital kms was working. All I did was opened the speedometer panel in the dashboard and sprayed wd40 and stared working fine. I also opened the sensor and got it cleaned with a dry cloth as it had some deposits of oil. I own an Indian swift Suzuki 2007 zxi model.

Hi,
I just swapped my stock 1.3ltr engine & tranmission to a 1.6ltr engine & tranmission. The speedo needle does not wake up till the car reaches about 50kmph.
The tranmission casing is from the original transmission but the gears are from the new tranmission.
The 1.6 engine is cable driven speedometer but the stock 1.3 was electronic. So I retained the electronic with instaling the VSS & the gear.
Can you please help with the speedometer as it is not functioning.

The ratios inside the gearbox are different for the sensor. You will not get a correct reading from this sensor
