TRUCK DRIVES WITH NO PROBLEMS WHEN IN 2WD, WHEN 4WD IS SELECTED THE 4WD LIGHT COMES ON AND THE RFW LIGHT AS NORMAL BUT WHEN PUT IN GEAR AND YOU TRY TO DRIVE OFF THE FRONT END MAKES A HORRIBLE NOISE AS IF SOMETHING IS STICKING AND THE TRUCK DOESN'T MOVE NORMALLY. IF I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT SEEMS TO JAM UP AND WON'T MOVE. IF I SELECT 2WD AGAIN AND PUSH THE RFW BUTTON ON THE DASH THEN THE TRUCK WILL DRIVE OK

This may be a transfer case problem but have it scanned first to see if any codes are picked up. It may have a motor on tcase sticking.

THE CAR HAS BEEN IN MY LOCAL GARAGE AND THEY HAVE CHECKED IT OUT BUT ARE STUMPED. A NEW SENSOR SWITCH WAS FITTED TO THE FRONT DIFF CONTROL BOX BUT DID NOT CURE. I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT ANY INFO I CAN BEFORE I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A SPECIALIST.

I hope you are shifting this with clutch in and brake on as that is the way it is supposed tow work. However this can be a tcase or axle problem and taking it to a specialist may know the cause and will be cheaper to get fixed there. If the driveshaft has been out recently was it put back in the same way? You really need to get the tcase and axle looked at has the motor been checked in the tcase to see if it is actually doing what it is supposed to do? Sounds like the tcase is hanging up in gear or same in axle.
