There seems to be a very high pressure build in my radiator. I noticed this when I opened my radiator cap after parking overnight when the engine is cold. I've also noticed a slight increase in the coolant level in the storage bottle.

Is this normal or not?

Also once I start the engine without the cap replaced I see the coolant fluid gradually rising, over flowing as the engine warms up.

I was asked to replace the radiator cap and check but the problem still exists.

Thanks. Nev

This is not normal it sounds like you have a bad radiator cap. Here is a video to help you see what you are in for when doing the job.

Coz I've noticed my radiator reservoir fluid gradually filling above the max level. Suspect something was not right. I don't want this excess pressure to crack up my radiator. Once I replaced the cap the problem stopped. Thanks for your help

The system pressure is regulated by the cap and it's supposed to purge some coolant into the reservoir when hot and it will draw it back in when cooled if the system isn't messed with in the meantime.
