Hello, I sure do appreciate you all being here. I have a couple of more questions that I would like to ask you all. Can you all tell me if the rod shaft that my power steering pulley is mounted on is the shaft supposed to have a little play in it? If not what do I need to do to it? I noticed that my belt tension-er has three marks on it with a hole in behind the three marks. Can you tell me what the three marks are for?

Hello,

Yes you should have some play about 1/8 inch in the pump shaft. The three marks on the tensioner mean minimum/maximum and ideal tension on the belt.

Please use 2CarPros anytime, we are here to help. Tell a friend please.

Cheers, Ken

The best way to take slack out of the belt is get a smaller belt or replace the tensioner.
