Wheel spins freely with no resistance drives and steers fine. one little turn of the wheel and it spins all the way left or right this makes it very tedious to drive. it is like super power steering.

This is typically caused by a broken reaction spring inside the steering gear box. The additional potential clue is if you turn the steering wheel fast enough, it will hit the stop, then bounce back and go the other way on its own. The fix is to replace the steering gear box.
