Drivers window won’t go down when you push the button cut the switch off and back on and it goes down on it’s on but will not come back up until you let one of the other windows down and back up. I changed a couple of the relays around to see if the problem followed but it didn’t. was thinking the only other thing is the switches, but wanted to ask and see if anyone else had this problem and what it was?

Hi Clarence, thank you for using 2CarPros. Lets see what we can figure out.

It is very common for these switches to short out due to rain dripping into them over time from the window being open or cracked when raining. May I ask, are all the other switches working normally? Just the driver door is malfunctioning?

Rich.

Good morning,

I just wanted to add that the switch itself is a common failure for this issue. I attached the procedure for you to replace it along with a wiring diagram of the system. Make sure the connector at the switch is tight and clean.

.Roy

1. Insert the tool at the front of the mounting plate. Press rearward to release the mounting plate retainer and lift up on the front of the plate.

CAUTION: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

NOTE: Apply protective coating/tape at the insertion point of the small flat-bladed tool in order to prevent damage to the inner door trim panel.

IMPORTANT:
- When removing a door trim panel or switch plate, the ignition switch must be in the OFF position. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the switch if a flat-bladed tool, awl or metal object is used to remove the switch from the harness.
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the power window and door lock mounting plate assembly from the trim panel.

1. Press down on the rear of the mounting plate to disconnect the tab. Lift out the mounting plate with the switches attached.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
