Swapped 2007 driver side doors from standard power windows to a ‘10 doors with auto up/down windows. Wiring connection is different at motor relay. How can I re-wire the auto up/down connector to match the motor relay pin? Standard motor relay connector is simple two wires. Auto up/down connector has six wires. Dealer wants big bucks to diagnose and fix with “new” window assembly. It should be a simple wiring hack. Cannot find correct wiring color codes for wiring to match. Assume the door switch is a NO vs NC and has two wires switch vs three.

I am sure this can be done but it is not just a matter of changing the switch. You are correct that the standard switch is just up and down with two wires as this is just reversing the polarity of the motor and it changes direction.

However, the auto up and down requires a module to determine the voltage difference between up and down so that it knows what direction to turn the motor.

This requires a module that the switch feeds and the module determines what the voltage is and controls the motor accordingly.

Take a look at the wiring diagram. You will see the window switch has the standard up and down circuits but there is also an LED, auto, and ground for this switch that the standard does not have.

So that means you are going to need the window motor/module and the switch. Then you are going to have to account for the LIN bus that will get all the auto functions to work.

This is going to require the instrument panel as well which is where the LIN bus for this circuit is generated.

However, even if you get all these components, I cannot guarantee that this will work because I have not tried to do this swap. So again, while I am sure this can be done, it is going to take a bit of trial and error to figure out what these modules are going to need.

In short, it is more than just a wire hack as you mentioned as you are going to need a number of components in order to get them functioning.

Take a look at the wiring diagrams out of the 2010 with auto feature and let me know what inf you will need from here.

Thanks

Thank you for the detailed insight. Follow up question, to clarify. I swapped all the wiring harness from ‘07 into ‘the 10. To match all of the connectors and door panel to body harness. Everything works, locks, lamps, speakers except for the power window. The ‘10 has the 6pin on the door, while the ‘07 has the two wire/pin. Does voltage still require your answer? I wanted to find the two up/down wires on the ‘10 6pin and connect the 2pin from ‘07. The last option is to swap window motor relays, which I attempted to do with the ‘07 panels and it was very difficult and don’t want to damage the ‘10 glass, gears and such swapping motor out. ‘07 motor really still works.

That is correct. Take a look at the wiring diagram above and you will see pin 6 and 7 of the switch is the up and down. I suspect if you cut and splice these two wires to the existing motor it will work.
You can confirm this by pressing the button and check the voltage and you should have 12 volts.

However, they will not work using the other connector unless you run them to the ECU as shown in the diagram.

Hope that helps.
