My drivers door is a manual door off a different year truck and my passenger door is all power. I only have power on the pink wire for both doors and no other wires have power. Does the drivers door have to be hooked up too? Is the drivers door a master switch type of thing or what?

Hello,

I am not sure what your question is but the pink wire is the power wire for both the left and right power door locks. In the diagrams down below I have included the wiring diagram for your vehicle's power door locks circuit. Please use this wiring diagram as a guide to fix whatever you are fixing.

Thanks,
Alex

Well I guess my question is, do I have to have both doors with power windows and locks for the passenger door to work? I bought the truck without the matching drivers door, it's a manual window and lock and my passenger door is the factory door for the truck and my window does not work. Is the drivers door the master switch for both the doors to work?

Hello again,

The drivers side switch is the master switch for both the power door locks and the power windows, but it does not have to be installed for the passenger side power door locks and windows to work. In the diagrams down below I have also included the power door locks wiring diagram for your vehicle. If you notice in the power windows wiring diagram, that was sent to you previously, and the power door locks wiring diagram, following the circuit from the circuit breaker on top on down, the split for the passenger door's electrical feed happens before the master switch. This means it is a parallel circuit, and Ohm's law states that each leg of a parallel circuit must have source voltage, so your passenger door must be getting battery voltage. Please get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

I had to jump the switch for the window to go down and up by putting a screw in the plug for the up and down and hooked wires from my battery to the screws and it worked so I believe the switch is bad

Hello again,

That sounds about right to me. Please be careful and don't let those screws ground out, unless you plan to do some welding.

Thanks,
Alex
