There are no codes. Currently I have replaced the plugs, coils, Mass air flow sensor. Nothing has changed. Please advise.

Hi,

Does it feel like the engine is causing the issue or could the transmission be slipping a bit?

If you feel confident that the transmission is not the issue, one thing that stands out to me is the idea that it happens when it's warm only. I need you to pay attention to the tachometer when this happens to see if it acts oddly.

What I'm thinking is you may have a crankshaft position sensor that may be failing. When they start to fail, they are adversely affected by heat. Since it takes about 20 minutes to happen, that could be what is happening.

Take a look through this link and let me know if anything seems to mirror what you experience:

Also, let me know if you have checked the fuel pressure to see if the pump may be getting weak.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you for your reply! I am going to have to check this out and see if this is it. I recall my mechanic saying this and I could swear he said he replaced it now that I’m thinking about it. I think I’m going to have a look see myself and also talk to him Monday to confirm.

After 20 minutes of driving my power started to stutter very noticeably. It’s not rhythmic rocking, it’s as if there is a faulty connection. Some rapid and some longer stutters. I have had the plugs, coils, and Mass air flow sensor changed and it’s still doing it. No codes are showing. It’s been getting worse as I drive it more.

Hello, it's definitely a cylinder(s) misfires occurring. If it gets worse, codes will start to show up. But this is a high-pressure direct injection engine, most likely what is happening is carbon build up on the top of the intake valves. This happens with these systems because the fuel is injected directly into the cylinder and not into the intake manifold where it would clean the intake valves on its way into the cylinders. They recommend having the intake valves cleaned every 30,000 miles with these systems. It requires cleaning the valves manually. The issue will only get worse if not addressed very soon. Below is a picture of what happens to the valves on these systems, so I recommend having them checked very soon.
