Hi, I am seeing some liquid that is leaking from the bottom most likely power steering fluid. I am seeing that my steering is kind of like jammed. Also the level of power steering fluid is half. Could you please diagnose the problem?

Sure it sounds like the pump, high side hose or the rack is leaking. Can you refill the fluid to see if the system comes back to life? You will need to jack the car up to see where the fluid is coming from then I can give you guides and diagrams to see how to fix it.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Hi Ken - A friend who knows a bit about car went underneath and said that he is seeing leaks near the rack and pinion and he thinks the seal is broken and it needs to be replaced. It looks like a very expensive thing and wanted to confirm the same.

Could you please let me know how to know that rack and pinion is leaking in any other way? I have seen that the car steering come back to life once it is refilled but it has been leaking for sure as I placed some while paper sheets underneath and they are now brown.

If you can get a picture for the leak I can confirm, but yes the rack is a big job parts are about $260.00 and here are diagrams to show you how to do the job. Once complete you will need to get the car aligned.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
