Replacing the power steering pump and hoses?

I'm in the process of changing my power steering pump & hoses. Everything is fine except for one hose (bought the replacement at Advanced Auto part 35906) the problem is, I don't know if truck has hydro-boost or if this indeed is the right hose. You can see in the picture the original hose runs out of site and I can't see you exactly where (and yes, I crawled under truck to look). The empty spot you see next to the line running is where the other hose off power steering pump ran to and has already been took off and replaced. does the hose I'm talking about plug there and if so, what about the extras (maybe somebody worked on it and that's all they had,) I took the best pictures I could, I work, and this is all being done at night and trying to stay quiet for the neighbors.

As you can see from the picture the return hose I got from the parts place while one end is the same and hooks right into the pump the other end is different it runs underneath the front bumper the frame and disappears. another one comes out and goes and plugs in where you see me point in the video so this hose is useless but I want to know if when it runs off out of the pump and comes to that what appears to be a coupling of some kind can I just take the end of the new one and mate it up there and if so how?

Thanks for the videos and the consideration for your neighbors, I like the crickets. :) the power steering line runs up to the power steering cooler. If you have lines running up to right behind the brake master cylinder, then the truck has hydro boost. (I don't think you have hydro boost)

I have found some power steering hose replacement instructions in the diagrams below. I noticed this set up does not use a cooler which you can do as well, just add the new lines and leave the cooler out of it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Very helpful. My truck does have hydro boost. I ended up not replacing the return hose. I'm putting everything back together and have already installed the one hose and the bracket on pump now can it be installed that way or am I going to have to take the bracket and the hose off to maneuver it back in or can I leave them two things on, and you've got a secret about how to maneuver new its back in. I appreciate the help. I I have used the website many times and while sometimes it takes a while it always works out, I'm not a mechanic by far and no reason I even work on this vehicle it was left to me by my dad. You do a fantastic job.

Thank you, it is nice to have something from your dad. Are you having trouble getting the fitting back into the steering box? This is a common problem; you will need to adjust (bend) the steel part of the line to help the alignment. Upload videos of the problem so I can help if needed.

No, I'm good now the pump is on, of course I can't tell you how because I don't know but I will offer this; trying from the bottom of the bracket and with the brace and hose off seemed the way to go.

Spoke too soon. I got everything mounted back up put the fluids down and discovered one if not both of the two bolts on the back side that hold the bracket onto the pump, I didn't tighten them all the way or they come loose somehow. Is there any way I can tighten them two bolts without having to take everything back apart? I know in the video it looks like room to get a socket on but there's not an open wrench doesn't work as there's no room to turn, the guys at the stores around here are useless also. As you can see, I'm lost and I'm the dark, literally.

Yep, if you can't get a wrench on the nuts then you will need to remove or loosen the pump mounts so it will give you remove to tighten them.
