I am taking my car in to the shop tomorrow to have the power steering fluid hose replaced. Almost all of the fluid has leaked out. I have to drive it about 12-15 miles to the shop and it is very hard to turn and control. Would it help to add some power steering fluid in it before I drive it to the shop to make it a little easier to control/turn?

Hi,

If it is that low on fluid and you drive it that far, chances are you will damage the pump. I would fill the pump with fluid before driving it unless the leak is extreme. If it is extreme, have it towed.

Let me know if you have other questions.
