I have the 1500 model and it has a break in the frame where the power steering box connects to the frame. How can I go about fixing this?

I would take it to an established body shop.
I recommend them over a welding shop, as they deal with 'wrecks' and may know vehicle make up better than the regular welding shop.
Sort of like, surgeon vs biology teacher to remove your appendix.
Not only would they possibly be able to weld it, but they might also be able to 'beef' it up. They might also determine whether it is too rusted or even unsafe to attempt a repair.
You may be thinking this is extreme, but I have been in the "OMG I cannot steer-brace for impact" zone, it is sort of like being in the "OMG, I do not have any brakes" zone, but different.
Not a good feeling at all!

There is a steering box brace plate that can be added to these. You get the frame welded up and then the plate goes on to reinforce the frame area that tore free, just like the braces they make for Jeeps...
