How do i know if the belt hose or pump needs to be replaced?

When i start the truck it doesn't make a noise only when i try to turn it makes a whining noise and it's hard to park parallel or park in a tight spot.

Hello,

The whining noise could happen due to low power steering fluid or the pump is going bad.
So first make sure the fluid is at the correct level and in good condition, as contaminated fluid can create friction and noise.
