Power steering is a little stiff?

The car is still drivable. Power steering fluid was clear, now it's black. What seems to be the problem? Open the fluid canister and everything is flowing. So why is my wheel a little stiff?

Hi,

When you say the fluid was clean and now is black, how quickly did that happen? Also, if it is black, it should be serviced to see if that helps. Keep in mind, the pump may have failed.
