I was driving and started to turn and it was very difficult. Never had this problem. It has right amount and type of fluid. Any ideas?

This could be a steering box/rack problem especially if only doing it one way. check tire pressures as a low tire can cause the same thing. See link.

Thanks for the reply. All the tire pressures are correct. What do you mean by box/rack problem? Also, there were no unusual noises or bangs when the steering went out.

Some vehicles have a rack and pinion for steering and others have a steering box. So I put that answer down to cover both types. See pictures of yours one is of it installed in your car.
