Power steering light came on

Power steering light came on then I lost steering for about a second and then all the lights came on like when I first start car and then steering was okay, but still said power steering on my radio display. I had recall done in April 2016. Dealer says I would have to pay out of pocket to fix wherever they find. Can you guess what this might cost and do I have to take it to a dealership?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

That is a tough call. Since all the lights came on, I question if there is a voltage issue or a ground problem. What you need to do is have the computer scanned to identify what diagnostic trouble code is present. Often times a parts store will scan it for free. Here is a quick video showing how it is done:
