Power Steering Problem

The steering gets hard after a few minutes of driving. It would not do it when I took it to a mechanic. The mechanic said due to low water in the battery. It was charged in excess which cause this problem. This was fixed, but still the problem is not resolved. kindly guide me to the reason and the remedy.

have it scanned for codes then check pump

Hi hmac, I thought the person had electronic power steering? I wasn't sure about the model?
