Shut off while driving?

Stopped running while driving. Mechanic put tester on and showed rms, tried starting it did, took tester off it shut off. Tried code change analyzer and tried to start and it would not. Tried problem tester, and it started.

I have seen a bad ground to the data connector cause this issue, the scanner acts as the ground and when you remove it the PCM shuts down. Here is a guide to help you test the ground and the wiring for the data connector which I have marked so you can see which terminals to test.
