Power running board modulator location

I’ll let you know if that’s the problem. Our running boards seem to work but the passenger side is really noisy and tends to work on its own when I’m driving. The motor is working, we’ve greased up the hinges and joints, and the modulator is the next option. We haven’t replaced the motor yet but since it is working we think maybe the modulator is the problem.

Thanks so much. I think we will go the motor and bracket route now and hope that’s the fix. I will let you know. I really appreciate your help. We can have an idea but it’s nice to have someone like you who knows.

Just an update. We have replaced the step motor yet as we ran into a couple other needed repairs. But it’s on the list.
