Hello, I'm Danny.

You will need to have the check engine light codes read.It means a code is stored in your vehicles computer. If you don't have access to a code reader/scanner most auto parts will read them for free or have a tool loaner program and can rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

After you retrieve the code get back to us with the code number and we can properly diagnose the problem.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Code P0171 is a Bank 1 system lean condition. Usually this means a vacuum line(s) or intake manifold gaskets are leaking. Basically extra air is being introduced into the engine and is not being metered causing poor performance. I've attached a series of step-by-step pictures below to help aid in the diagnosis of code P0171. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
