So, I swapped my 5.3 engine (gen 3) with a gen 4. Got the signal box from Lingenfelter due to the timing signal conversion. Everything went perfect. Fired up on the second attempt after install and it ran beautifully, but my 4L60e was leaking around cooler lines in the case. Finally figured out my lines were reversed. Anyway. Fixed that issue and installed a cooler as well. Well, I’m the process of troubleshooting the transmission leak I removed my intake to get a better view of the top of the transmission. Replaced everything and idles really bad. Ran codes and ended up replacing MAP, MAF, Evap purge valve and vent solenoid, and all o2 sensors. Basically, did all sensors as a preventative just to make sure as well as new plugs wires and the whole 9. So now although it stays running it still idles like it has a bigger cam in it. Cannot figure out what’s going on with this darn thing. It ran perfect after the swap. Let’s just say I’m at a point where some hammers are going to go through the windshield. Any help? Ideas?

Hi,

The first thing I suspect is either something (sensor) was left disconnected, the air induction tube is not properly connected or cracked, or the is an engine vacuum leak.

If you haven't already, check for vacuum leaks. Here is a link showing how it's done. When you removed the intake, something may have broken or not gone back together correctly:

Next, if you have a live data scanner, could you let me know what the short-term fuel trims are?

Let me know.
