I believe I have a bad oil pressure sensor and/or ops pigtail. My gauge usually sits on 80 psi, pegged out. But recently it will drop to 0 psi and my low oil pressure warning will trigger on the info center. Can/will this cause the vehicle to go into limp mode? Just put a re-manufactured 5.3L with rebuilt 4l60e, less than 20000 on both. Body has 250,000.

The short answer is yes. Low oil pressure or other oil pressure issues will cause serious engine damage. So that means we need to find out if this is a gauge issue or an actual oil pressure issue. Here is how to hook up an oil pressure gauge. Let's do this and find out what the actual pressure is. If it is low, do not run the engine very long because if it is too low you will damage the engine. Let me know what the pressure is on the gauge and we can go from there.
