Possible Headlight/ Turn Signal Control Switch Issue?

While driving, when I push the turn signal for a left turn, it often does not engage. It goes all the way down, but the blinking arrow on the dash does not go on, no clicking, and the outside turn lights do not blink. If I turn the switch to neutral and then left again, the turn function works as normal. This is not happening with the right turn. If I push the left signal switch harder than usual, it always engages. Could be a coincidence, but I am unable to recreate the issue when parked, only while driving.

I am thinking a contact could likely be worn out or loose in the turn signal control switch and my instinct is to replace it, but I wanted to make sure I’m not missing something else that it could be.
