I just bought a 996 and the air bag light came on. The dealer said that there is a upgrade seat belt buckle and that is the cause. What how hard is it to replace the buckle. The dealer wants almost $500.00 to replace the buckles. Why? And is it necessary to rewire something?

Hi there,

Anything to do with airbags should be refereed to the dealer, this can be a dangerous job, one mistake could cause the deployment of the bag, and this will be expensive, there may be a re set procedure that will need to be done, don't mess with air bags, get the dealer to do it.
