After being driven 30-60 mins the engine is hard to restart. Mechanic thinks its fuel pressure bleed down. Whats the test and the fix.


Also had the master cylinder went dry. Added fluid. Brakes have been working ine before and after. With car on lift no obvious sign of fluid leakage, nor smell. Brake warning light still on. What's next?

Hi there,

You will need to do a static fuel pressure test, this will check for a faulty pressure regulator valve and leaking pump valves, also check running fuel pressure, as for the brakes, you will have a leak somewhere as the fluid wont evaporate, this will need to be checked ASAP as you may have brake failure with out warning.

The CIS injection system on your car needs CIS fuel pressure gauges and someone schooled in Bosch CIS to properly diagnose it. Either that, or you are just guessing. If it is a fuel pressure problem. it could be a faulty fuel accumulator or a check valve, which is part of the fuel pump. A bad one will cause this problem. As far as the brake fluid, is it low in the master cyl? If so, and there are no obvious leaks, the master cylinder is probably leaking at the back. Look where it is mounted and see if you can see a small trail. If you take it off it is probably leaking out the back.
