Engine Performance problem
1976 Porsche 911 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

The air cleaner housing is loose and I notice a crack or perhaps a seam on the left side. In the housing itslelf there is a vertical machine screw that appears to have stripped threads. Does this screw hold the whole housing down or do I have to replace the whole housing?

if it has a crack in it '' replace it and use new hold down screws they usually crack because of repeated pressure burst that take place inside the housing caused by a eng out of tune it can be helped by adding a pop off valve ....best of luck to you....mechtrix
