I have the car listed above dx. I have put in a new fuel pump and o2 sensor. The car bogs down when trying to accelerate from a stop. If I power brake and bring the RPMs up it goes just fine. Please help.

Hi,

If you notice a bog when you first hit the throttle, it could be a few different things. First, it could be an engine vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, a plugged air filter, and so on. I realize the fuel pump is new, but stranger things have happened.

Is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? Let me know.

In the interim, here is a link that explains how to check for engine vacuum leaks. Let me know if you find any leaks.

Also, let me know if you checked the fuel pressure.

Take care,

Joe

Bogs when I try to accelerate from a stop. It has a new full pump and o2 sensor. When I power brake and bring the RPMs up it leaves just fine. I'm wondering if it could be throttle position sensor or fuel pressure regulator. Please help.

Hi,

Anything is possible. How low does the engine idle while in gear? Also, have you checked to see if there are any vacuum leaks?

As far as the fuel pressure regulator is concerned, here is a link that explains how to test the pump and regulator. Take a look through it and let me know if you have questions,

Let me know.
