Noises problem
1998 Pontiac Transport 6 cyl Automatic

Hi,
My TranSport started making this nasty thunking noise, where I can feel it through the floor under my feet. It happens kind of randomly, but I think more frequently when I am moving and negotiate a curve. And no, I'm not taking out the neighbors' cats.
For a while now, it has been sounding like a wash machine on spin cycle, and the noise speeds up as I accelerate, don't know if that is relevant to the scary thunking.

probably an exhaust heat shield has come loose and is banging against the floor.
