1998 Trans Am - 2 weeks ago I took it to my local Gm dealer and for $95 dollars they hooked it up to their diagnostic machine and no troubles were found. Over this weekend I changed the oil and replaced the water pump. 3 days after doing this the service engine soon light came on. I h ave been driving the car with no issues. What are your thoughts about this.

What I would like you to do is check with your local parts stores and see if one will do a free scan. If so get it scanned and write down the codes and then have them clear them. Get back to me with the codes so we can see what the car it trying to tell us.
