1997 Pontiac Trans Am fuel pump went out car wont start

i think my fuel pump went out. bought a new one dont have the repair manual to show me how to put it in, i know i have to drop the tail pipes, just want to make sure. it is the ws.6 racing package on it

How do you know its the fuel pump, what kind of checks did you performed to come into that conclusion??
