I have a 1999 pontiac sunfire gt 2.4. The valve cover gaskets are leaking. Do I have to remove the timing cover and everything else to replace the valve gaskets.
i really dont want to have to do that. Is there a easier way or am I stuck doing it?

I have a 1992 Chrysler Labaron with a 4cyl, 2.5L SHOC engine. Does the torque on the valve bolts have to be perfect to obtain a good seal? Also, unlike the old gasket material which is made out of cork, the new gasket material is a combination of metal and rubber. How much gasket sealant is necessary in order obtain a good seal? Does the sealant need to be applied all around the new gasket? Does the sealant need to be applied both above and below the new gasket? The metal/rubber gasket one is more expensive than the all cork one it is replacing. How flexible can a metal gasket be compared to one made out of cork? Is it a better gasket?
