After driving for over 30 mins, when the car is on idle or when stopping and going (traffic) the temperature gauge starts going up. So far its gone up 3/4 and it hasn't touched the red mark. When I drive faster it goes down. I noticed today when it was going up, I turned on the A/C and it went back down to normal. So when the A/C is on it's ok. What could be the problem here?

For a start check the radiator fan/thermostat/pressure cap and coolant level
