2002 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 170 00 miles

my car is overheating I put a new thermastat and water pump checked the readeater to make sure it wasnted cloged we r driving without the therastat it doesnt overheat until we put it back in. Any ideas what else I could try thank you cheryl

If it only overheats with the thermostat installed then make certain the thermostat is opening properly by testing it on a stove in water. Also ensure you are installing thermostat the correct direction
