I am buying a remote start for my 2002 SunFire. The clerk told me I have to purchase a bypass because the key has a chip in it.

does my 20o2 Sun fire have a chip in the key

My info shows passlock antitheft for your vehicle, no pellet in the key. You probably still need a bypass system. Talk to the manufacturer.
