2001 Pontiac Sunfire. Turn ignition to on position, gauges jump backwards, start car, runs for 2-3 seconds and dies. Also, with door open and key out of the ignition, radio and overhead light remain on.

Do you have a check engine light or has flashed before-? If so get it scanned for OBD2 code/s. Autozone will do this service for free and comeback with it-

You might want to test out the ignition switch for a start.
