I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire 2.2l that wont start. I had no fuel pressure so we replaced fuel pump and still no fuel pressure. My check engine light has been on for some time. Could I have bought a faulty fuel pump? What else could it be?

since engine light is on i suggest retrieving trouble codes that are stored in the computer. If it's not getting power then check for faulty fuel pump relay
