2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2 No Fuel Pressure

I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire with no fuel pressure. We replaced the fuel pump, the car still wont start and still no fuel pressure. My check engine light has been on since before this problem. I did buy a used fuel pump but they gaurenteed it would work. So did I buy a bad pump? What else could it be? Please give me some advice.

Sounds like a dead pump -do you hear the pump come on when key at run??
