I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire 150,000 miles and my check engine light came on, I had the mechanic check it and he said that it was fuel emission. They also said that it was the vapor lock. Is there any way that I can fix this on my own? And if so how would I do it?

My suggestion is to take your car to checker or Autozone have them do a computer code check, because what the Mechanic said make no sense at all, because there is no part called the vapor lock, that is an old problem that cars in the pre- 80's had problems with, and they have since fixed it. Most likely the problem is something simple like a o2 sensor and yes you can fix most of the fuel emmisions your self. The guys at autozone can show you what part to change and can show you where to find it and how to do it. Hope this helps
