1998 Pontiac Sunfire getting hot still

I also checked to see if the fan was kicking on when I unplug the coolant temp. sensor and turn on the key but it did not kick on at all. It does when I run a jumper wire to it though.

Hi there,

If the fans are not pulling in at temp, replace the sensor, you have proved that the fans are ok.
