my 1998 sunfire is acting funny was running fine started it up one morning and when it ildles the engine and car shakes. also when i drive it chugs and when i give it gas after i stop it sputters and chugs

It sounds like it is missing. Has the check engine light come on? Also, when was the last tune up?

yes the check engine light is on . i changed the oil sparkplugs and air filter recently. i thought it was a misfire but all sparkplugs are brand new after this started

Hi:
I need you to take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. If the light is on, there should be something storred in the computer to help identify the problem. Also, most parts stores will scan for free, so it's no money out of your pocket.

Let me know what you find.

i found the problem it was my coil for cylinders 2,3 thanks for your help
