1997 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My window wipers worked fine up until 2 weeks ago. When they are turned off the wipers stay up straight instead of down on the bottom of the windshield. All speeds of the wipers work fine but for when turned off. I checked the wiper arms and motor everything is working fine. Tried resetting them by removing the fuse the battery lug and they still stand up straight.
Next step is to take wipers off completely and put them back on while in the off position. What could have caused this slip????

Thanks for your help!!!!!

some its the module that cause this problem, and others there is an internal part that is bad but i am not sure of the name. call your local dealer, they can tell you the name for sure.

Is is possible that it has something to do with the switch inside the car? I can get one of those and change it if necessary....
