I have a 1997 sunfire. It was not running on a 4 cylinders. The cylinders jumped on and off rarely running on all 4. So I got a coil pack complete with back plate. I changed it and it wouldnt even start. So I took the coil pack back off and put the original on. It starts but stalls right away. I believe the skip is still there as well.
since then I have changed just the coils, without back plate. And I have also tried other back plates just the original will start it.
I have checked the spark-plugs for fire. They all fire nice.
I have also changed the knock sensor on the bottom of the block. I have changed the cam sensor.
I have checked the fuel pressure it looks good, it had 55 psi. I changed the gas filter.
I have connected a ob II code reader to it. It says all is ok no codes.
I have also removed the remote starter.
I have been working on this problem for weeks now. I would really appreciate hearing your opinion. Thank you.

Engine misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
