1997 Pontiac Sunfire Crankshaft sensor

1997 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

How can I remove crankshaft sensor that only came out part of the way and will not come out of outer part of engine block? The engine is a 2.2 liter overhead valve.

if you havne't broken the sensor spray some penetrating oil on it then move the sensor down after you let the oil sit for a coule of minutes - like 5. then try pulling it out again. If it gets to the same spot and won't move then try grabbing it with vice frips and twisting while pulling. If worse comes to worse you'll have to pull the pan and drive it out from the bottom....
