1995 Pontiac Sunfire Timing Belt?

I was driving the car and as I turned a corner, I heard a snap and a couple of little thuds and the car died. Now it won't start, it will turn over, but that is it.
Someone said perhaps it was the timing belt.

for sure you need to check the timing belt and water pump too
